Gimp
I like poking around with the gimp, and here are a couple of things I've produced with it.
Some friends and I decided to create some spoof banner ads.
Here are mine:
I did some restoration on a old photograph (uhm, a great-uncle of mine), which turned out ok. I'm going to re-do this with an original scan of the picture.
